From 1983-1990, we lived in Woodbridge, CT, a suburb of New Haven. Our (oddly California contemporary, redwood) house was on 2.5 acres of land, but, because we were mostly surrounded by the water company's watershed, it might as well have been 2.5 thousand acres. We mostly didn't even know where our property ended. We really were in the woods--there wasn't one blade of grass to be found, so getting the leaves off the large circular driveway was pretty much our total landscaping effort.
The driveway was a good playground area. You can see left-handed QB Dorrie taking a 3-step drop (check the footwork). Maybe she knew she shares a birthday with Milt Plum. I don't know why my father is wearing a tie, but probably it was a holiday dinner. What are he and Davey doing?
Ah, preparing to launch a balsa-wood, rubber-band prop plane (which you can see top center if you click on the picture). Is Davey delighted?
We built a gym set in the woods at the side of the driveway.
Again looking at Google Maps street view, there the house is, at the top of the driveway. The exit of the circular driveway is at the left in the picture.
